Mustard Madness

I'm back!!!!! I apologize for my lack of blogging as of recent I have been studying like a mad person for my GMAT! I decided to break out of my study coma today and embrace the crisp winter air that has been rather mild considering its almost the new year! Yay!

Today, I wanted to show off my favorite pair of mustard yellow pants from Zara in two different ways! In the first outfit I have paired the pants with a maroon blazer, multicolored scarf, tank, army green purse, brown booties and some simple jewelry. I love the winter because it allows me to layer all my favorite pieces and create an outfit with depth and variety.

Blazer: H&M, Scarf: Aldo, Tank: F21,  Pants: Zara, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Sunglasses: Kate Spade, Purse: Nice Things

I love that this purse can be worn a variety of ways: either with the long shoulder strap, held by the handles or worn on the shoulder with the shorter handles. Its both boho chic while retaining some form of structure. I found it at a random boutique in Paris and it was love at first sight!
My second look is a little more casual with the army green multi-pocketed  jacket that is softened by a long pale pink floral scarf. I added the distressed black and brown lace- up boots to contrast with the color of the mustard pants.
Jacket: Kenna-T, Scarf: H&M, Shoes: Aldo, Purse: Vince Camuto

I will have more posts for you soon! Happy Holidays! Enjoy!

Pumpkin Patch Madness

Work was pretty crazy this week not to mention I have serious case of the sniffles, so as you can imagine I was delighted to finally have a Sunday off from work to rest and enjoy the beautiful fall weather with my friends and family.
I haven't been to the pumpkin patch since I was in elementary school. This Monday is my best friend's birthday and she was craving a candied apple so she dragged me to Butler's Orchard, MD to snack on fall treats and pick pumpkins. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I'm glad that I went. The colors of fall are so warm and welcoming; I even picked my very own pumpkin (seen below).

Scarf: H&M, Shirt: Nordstrom, Pants: H&M, Shoes: Aldo, Bag: Parisian Boutique
I figured that I should embrace the rugged outdoors with some grudge distressed boots and an all denim outfit . Nothing says the great outdoors like denim, its durable, comfortable and versatile.
I have had these boots for almost 2 years and I am still in love with them. They are comfortable, and the perfect brownish-black color. They work well with greens, black, browns, blues, greys and everything in between! And if you are feeling really adventurous you can fold them down and expose the inner lining.
Happy fall to all!

Tell me your thoughts, please!

Summer Haze

Although, it is mid October I was in a bit of a summer haze the other day and decided to block out thoughts of the dreaded cold and rainy weather  by wearing a bright combination of colors! I love mixing patterns, textures and color-blocking unexpectedly.

Sweater: Urban Outfitters, Tank: Gap, Necklace:gifted, Pants: Zara, Shoes: Vera Wang, Clutch: Aldo
I love the rose gold color and texture of the shoes mixed with the fun jewelry ornamentation.  I just recently started wearing flats and these are such a great basic flat to have in my closet. It goes with almost anything in my closet and has the potential to be dressed up or dressed down. Enough gushing over my shoes, needless to say they are a staple in my wardrobe!
This clutch is some simple, classic and versatile! The varied length in the chains allows me to use it  as a clutch, crossbody bag or a small handheld purse!

I hope you enjoy my new post and feel inspired to try some fun color combinations of your own!

Tell me what you think!

Dressy Carpet Jacket

After a lazy day of sitting on the couch all day and reading I decided to clean out my closet in an effort to embrace the cooler fall weather. Storing away my summer clothes gave me a mini heart attack, because I realized the huge lack of fall clothing in my wardrobe. So in an effort to stock up on some fall staples I bought this GORGEOUS jacket from Zara.

In the words of my boyfriend, "it looks like a dressy carpet jacket".
This is the perfect jacket for wearing for more dressy occasions; wonderfully,  paired with skirts and high- waisted pants and booties. This is an essential transitional piece from fall to winter.
I love the detailing around the collar of the jacket especially with the mixed textures.  I think it makes the jacket look chic and expensive!
The asymmetrical zipper is another fun detail!

I hope to have some pictures of me wearing the jacket further into the season.
Let me know what you think!
toodles!

Shoes!

My ever growing professional shoe collection:
As a recent college grad I have plenty of casual clothes for class, extracurriculars and everything else you can image. I struggle with finding more professional clothing that can transition from the day to night. After checking some of my favorite blogs and doing some intensive research (aka online shopping/browsing) I have finally constructed a list of basic office essentials.

First one my list was nude heels...the ones pictured below I just got today at Nordstrom Rack! WOOT WOOT! They are super comfy and a total steal!
The perfect nude heel!
The rest of the list includes:
1. Solid Colored Blazers (you can never have too many blazers)
2. Bow Tie blouses
3. Pencil Skirts
4. Opaque tights
5. Peplum tops/skirts (for a little added flare)
6. Perfectly cropped pants (in any color)
7. A black leather carry all satchel
8. cardigan sweaters (to add a pop of color to the outfit)
Just the right amount of animal print. Still conservative and work appropriate.
The always necessary black pump. Try to have a little fun with this one by adding some extra textures!

Just remember that you want to dress on the more conservative side until you get a feel for your new work environment; as you become more comfortable with your surroundings you can have a bit more fun with your fashion!

See ya next week with some actual outfits!

toodles:)

Cap Toed Heels

Welcome Fall!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons; I love the crisp weather, the changing of the leaves and most of all fall clothing. Sweaters, boots and leggings... OH MY! As a celebration of the season I treated myself to a new pair of shoes that will be essential to my fall wardrobe.

As I am transitioning from my college clothes to a more business professional wardrobe, I am striving to invest in quality pieces that I can wear to work and out with friends.

What do you think of my new shoes?

Memory Lane

Here is what reminiscing looks like to me...

Philly Sight Seeing

Whenever I have a day off I try to make the most of it, so when I had two days off in a row I decided to visit some friends in Philly. One thing I love about the city is the ability to walk everywhere, the smells (good and bad) and the random works of art along sides of buildings. This townhouse, off of south street, was covered a mosaic style seemed to be a reoccurring theme throughout the city. I took a ton of pictures that day; I have included a few of my faves. Enjoy!

Something New, Something Old

Sparkly shoes can sometimes seem a like Michael Jackson-esque or costumey, but because of subtle off white color and golden flecks this flat has worked wonders for my wardrobe! I wear it with pants, leggings, shorts and dresses! So I must admit that I am sad to see such a beloved piece fall to pieces, literally. I resoled them the other day to no avail. After, over a year of wear I must retire my dazzling shoes.

In response to the retiring of my sparkly shoes I decided to finally purchase another pair that I have been carefully stalking for several months. When they finally went on sale I could no longer resist and I had to have them in my closet! Although, I am not a huge snake skin imitation fan; I just love the t-strap with the black leather heel strap and wooden black stiletto heel for contrast. This is also my first pair of heels without a platform. The extra padding under the ball of the foot makes them so comfortable! Can't wait to post a picture of me wearing them.

  Something old, something new.
