La Rambla & The Port

Today, I ventured down to the incredibly beautiful and popular, La Rambla. The street is lined with places to eat, drink, sleep and shop. There were so many people there today that it felt like I was in Time Square!

Before grabbing a bite to eat I went to see the port, which is located at the very end of La Rambla.

Today, was the perfect temperature, welcoming both visitors and natives to sit an meditate as we watched the boats sail away.

Me and dear ol' mufassa bonding!
More street art!

These artists are so talented and creative it's amazing (and sometimes scary)! Until tomorrow's post, toodles!

Barcelona, Mi Amor

HELLO FROM BARCELONA!!! I jjust got here this afternoon and I'm already energized and excited about my stay in this wonderful city!

First thing I did after checking into the hotel was walk the few blocks to the beach where the water is calm and clear and the people are basking in the summer weather.

Today, it seemed like all of Barcelona was out biking, jogging, swimming or playing beach sports.

Even the Coca Cola cans are artistic and colorful! It's only my first day, but I am already diggin' this flavorful city. Stay tuned tomorrow I am off to explore La Rambla, one of the most popular strips of stores, shops, cafes and restaurants!  I'll leave you with this final image for tonight...

Valencia

Since I'm only in Valencia for two days I decided to include all my adventures in one GIANT post! Enjoy!
I bought these shorts a month ago for this trip. I was trying to not wear them until I arrived in Barcelona, but I'm weak and crumbled under their beauty.
I love the black & white graphic combo with a splash of color from my favorite red Sam Edelman sandals!
Here's a close up of the detail of the shorts. The eyelet cut-outs are subtle and unique. They give the outfit more depth which is always great!
The "scenic view" top from Madewell is wonderful and breezy with awesome scallop- edged overlapping back slits. The linen material is perfect for cool summer days.
A gorgeous fountain in the center of the city.
Historical treasures hidden around every corner!
The catedral Saint Maria Valencia. (Top:outside, below: inside)

Resting my tired feet after a long couple of days of sightseeing! Loving my new sandals (that I already own in the whiskey color) and Valencia! Stay tuned!

Insta-Madrid

Sadly, my time in Madrid is coming to a close. Tomorrow I venture to Valencia! But before I part with this wonderful city I want to share with you some of my favorite moments from today.
I love Madrid's street artists. I can't imagine holding this pose for hours in the  summer heat.
Zara is one of my favorite places to shop so you can imagine the overwhelming joy I felt when I walked into the four story temple on Gran Via! I went a little crazy, but the prices here are so much cheaper than at home! What's a girl to do?!?

To end the night my friend and I got a huge dose of the Spanish culture by attending a flamenco dancing performance.
The dancers were flawless. They performed with such high energy and have a true passion for the art.
This lady must have been almost fifty years old and she was spectacular!

I loved the costumes that all the ladies wore, they were colorful and voluminous. Thanks Madrid

Exploring Toledo Madrid

Hello from Madrid! I'm finally on my Europe trip which I feel like I have been planning for a lifetime. After surviving yesterday's jet lag I decided to go out and explore. Today my friend and I traveled to Toledo, which used to be the capital of Madrid.

My version of "grabbing the bull by the horns"! I'm not sure why this was in one of the shops, but it was a perfect photo opportunity.
My trusty purse! It was a last minute purchase before the trip and I'm so glad I have it. I love the color, the adjustable strap and the amount of stuff I can carry. Perfection!
A great outfit for sightseeing: comfortable sandals, breezy sundress and a light wash jean jacket for when I get cold.
I'm so tiny next to this Spanish catedral built in the 8th century! Follow me on Instagram to see more images as I travel through Spain and Italy! AdiĆ³s!

Floral Jumper

Today was a jumper kind of day! I am only four days away from my Europe trip and have already packed most of my dresses, skirts and shorts because the weather is supposed to be incredibly hot over there! In an effort to make use of the remaining items in my closet I decided to go with a more relaxed look today.

I got this jumper a few summers ago at H&M and have wore it more ways than I can possibly write! It is an excellent transitional piece that can easily go from day to night and from fall to spring. Today I paired it with an over-sized chambray and metallic sandals. Since the paisley pattern is already eye-catching enough I wanted my accessories to be subtle and complimentary.

Jumper: H&M, Chambray: Madewell, Belt: Zara, Necklace: Aldo, Sandals: Sahara

I also included a braided brown belt to better define my waist and break up the pattern a little bit!

I love a great statement necklace, this one in particular is versatile, textures and a perfect color for wearing with any garment. Tell me what you think of my outfit! How do you wear jumpers?

Floral Tanks & Chambray

IN an effort to overcome yesterdays dreary weather I decided to done my bright UO skirt and floral tank from H&M. I toned down my bold look with an oversized salt-stone wash chambray. As I have stated numerous times before I love chambray shirts, I have managed to wear them a variety of ways including, as a jacket, sweater, shirt and soon a beach cover up!

Only a few days until I leave for my month long Europe trip. Follow me on instagram (mypursuitoffashion) and on the blog so you can see all my amazing pictures as I travel the globe with my best friend.

Tank: H&M, Shirt: Chambray, Skirt: UO, Belt: H&M, Purse: Steve Madden Sandals: Sahara

I love this bag so much! I am a cross-body bag addict and the color is vibrant and beautiful.

See you soon! Toodles!

Blue & White

It started with a bag.... for my birthday (this past memorial day) my grandmother and aunt bought me a purse from the Kate Spade Outlet in Williamsburg, VA.

This is not my first Kate Spade bag, but I will cherish it like it is! Two things impressed me about this bag- first my aunt and grandma are finally beginning to understand my sense of style and are choosing items that I will actually like and wear.

Secondly, this bag is amazing! It is spacious on the inside, I love the mix of textures and colors on the outside. The structure sleek, chic and sophisticated and the straps are the perfect length.

Dress: Lush, Vest: Zara (old, similar here), Shoes: Stuart Weiztman (old), Purse: Kate Spade, Bracelet: J Crew, Sunnies : Kate Spade

I've said it before and I will gladly say it again I am a fan of flatforms if worn properly. I am a petite person who welcomes the smallest bit of height in any shoe form as long as it is comfortable. I love the cork composition of these flatforms because it is subtle and charming!

What do you think about my look? What is your favorite purse?

How To Find Peace In A Stressful Day

I am sure we have all experienced days or a series of days where we simply just cannot find the time to do anything but work! I am currently in a seven day stretch of working very long days and nights.

In a way it is my own fault for trying to work a part-time job, internship and temp as much as humanly possible!
