Flower Power

I am a huge off-season shopper and few things make me happier than getting a bargain on a "must have" item. This white lace dress with flower appliques that I found in the sales section of Urban Outfitters was an absolute steal! Although, I had to wait a few months before the weather was somewhat appropriate, the wait was well worth it. Before purchasing dress I envisioned this dress with several different outfits including, a chambray, jean jacket, blazer or just as a by itself with a belt and colorful pair of heels.  I like to try an make as many outfits with the garment I am purchasing to make sure that it will be used a variety of ways and works with other pieces in my closet. (Side note: make sure that when you are bargain shopping, do not let the price of the item sway you into purchasing a garment that you would never wear. Buy items for their versatility and how they will round out your wardrobe and if they happen to be a steal- all the better!)

So after months of waiting and waiting, today the weather was warm enough to debut my beautiful lace dress! Initially, I was a bit worried that the appliques made it look a bit "costumey", so I cut a few off. Overall, I think the outfit was a total success and I couldn't be happier with the result. Enjoy!

Dress: UO, Shirt: Madewell, Neckalce: F21, Ring: Madewell, Belt: H&M, Boots: Circa, Joan&David

Since the dress is lace it can easily be dressed up or down, today I decided to go for a more casual look by pairing the dress with a campground wash chambray shirt and some well worn brown suede boots. I used the belt to cinch my waist and give the outfit a little more shape and definition. Next time, I plan to take the dress a different direction by pairing it with a blazer and some heels. Keep an eye out! As always please tell me what you think! Does the outfit work? What could I have done differently?
