2 Trends I Can Live Without

The beauty of fashion is that it is always changing and evolving over time to incorporate both past and current trends. So essentially if you are particularly into a certain trend it will be around for a while so have fun with it. On that same note there are some trends that have lasted long past their prime and I am over it!

Now I am not trying to be negative or pessimistic, I support people’s right to express themselves, but I am tired of seeing the partially shaved head and the stupid wedge sneakers. Ladies, please let this trend go! If I could have five minutes with Rihanna or Cassie or Amanda Bynes (I may need more than five minutes to talk some sense into her). I would say…
Hi [Rihanna/ Cassie/Amanda]! Let me first say that you are a gorgeous successful woman that I look to for inspiration for fashion and beauty tips, but there is one thing that I just cannot look past…your hair. You have beautiful long locks of hair that always look nourished and healthy yet you continue to ruin your outfits with this outdated hair style. Why would a woman of your beauty and talent want to be seen sporting the mullet of our generation? Please respect yourself and respect your fans by letting this trend go. The rest of the world has moved on and so should you.

My main issue with this hair style is that it is completely unbalanced, it looks like an extreme Donald Trump comb-over and seems like it would take a while to regain homeostasis. Once you shave a portion of your head, what happens once you’re done with the trend? Do you let that little patch grow out? Or do you buzz the whole thing until it is even and let it grow out naturally? Do you hide it with weave and extensions?

I seriously have no idea how to rectify the situation. I just wish that it would stop immediately. If you are not going to shave off all your hair like Anne Hathaway or Demi Moore for a movie role than perhaps you should not shave it at all.

Next on my list of fashion debacles is the wedge sneaker. I am well aware that I am not the first person to plead for the end of this trend, but I have to rant for just a few moments about my extreme aversion to wedge sneakers.

Listen ladies, sneakers are for walking in the city, running errands and working out. They are NOT high fashion, not even if you hide a wedge in them to make you taller. If you are a petite person like me then you know that every little inch helps, but there are other cute ways to add height rather than hiding it in your sneakers!

Wedge sneakers look chunky and heavy, which no little woman wants on her feet since it will only make them look enormous. They remind me of the DC sneakers that guys used to wear in middle and high school.

I have despised this trend from the moment I saw the ones that all my favorite bloggers were wedges sneakers wearing by Isabel Marant. I was hoping that the trend would die just as quickly as it started, but more and more I am seeing cheaper versions of that stupid shoe from Steve Madden, Jeffery Campbell and Target. Ladies I beseech you, please stop buying these shoes so they will stop making them!

What do you think about these two trends? Are you into it or over it?
