As a self-proclaimed maxi skirt/dress guru, I simply can’t get enough of these maxis for spring/summer, and ombre has been a huge trend for quite some time now. Ombre is the graduation of color from lighter to darker or visa versa. Most recently, ombre has been an especially popular trend in hair dying; it gives the hair (and these dresses!) way more body and depth. Check out these lovely maxis after the jump!

After closely examining every detail of each skirt and dress in this article, I was finally able to compile a list of my favorites:

1. Metropark Gaby Ombre Maxi Dress: This dress seems like the exact piece that every woman needs to pack on her Caribbean getaway. The dress is breezy and boho chic. The white and blue combination is very nautical without being overly preppy. The A-line fit is genius because it is fitted around the chest and flows out from the waist down; this fit is flattering for all types of women. Just throw on your bathing suit, this dress and some sandals and you are ready to go!

2. The Limited Ombre Dyed Maxi Dress: This item was another one of my favorites because this dress dares to try with ombre two colors in the same garment! I think the construction of this dress gives any woman aclassic, sophisticated silhouette. The blush on top keeps the dress soft and elegant as we move to the middle of the dress the pink gets darker and bolder.

Having a darker hue of the pink towards the middle of the dress helps hide any “problem areas”. The white space in the middle of the dress is crucial to the success of the design of the dress because it provides a sense ofbalance and acts as a blank slate. Then the dark blue at the bottom of the dress is almost grey, which compliments the hues of pink at the top of the dress. The dress could have been a disaster, but due to a great concept, design and use of color is a total success! And it is under $100!

3. Young Fabulous and Broke Sassy Sunset Ombre Maxi Dress: When I saw this dress, my heart skipped a beat! First, let me say that the colors are wonderful, the rich navy blue at the top of the dress is so bold and classic that it would compliment a variety of skin tones

As your eye moves down the dress, you notice that the color fades to a light aqua blue and eventually to a baby blue. I honestly love everything about the construction of the dress; it is cute, comfortable and sexy. The asymmetrical hem with the slit in the front of the dress is like a little game of peek-a-boo for your legs.

I love the ruching around the waist; it creates depth and is a fun styling detail. I would absolutely wear this over my bathing suit on vacation or while I’m running errands or even going out with my girl for happy hour. This dress is a knock-out and can easily go from daytime to nighttime with the addition of a simple vest or edgy moto-jacket.
4. Young Fabulous and Broke Dyna Ombre Dress: I’m on the fence about the final dress in the slide show. Part of me loves the silhouette and spacious detailing around the bust. The way the dress flows on the model as she wears it is perfection. The dress makes me want to take a long walk on the beach at night under the stars. [via She Finds]

While on the other hand, I am not entirely sure that I agree with the choice in color and making the ombre effect from dark at the top to white at the bottom. Maybe if the bottom was not white, but rather a different hue of black or blue I may have appreciated this dress a bit more.
Lovelies, what do you think? Which look is your favorite?
