Despite the past few chilly days, I am confident that the warmer spring weather is just around the corner and after spring comes summer! For several months my best friend and I have been planning a summer trip through Europe. 

 We are using it as a time to explore and soul search. Backpacking for a month means that I will not be able to bring ALL my beautiful clothes with me on this magnificent trip. So in an effort to pack lightI have decided to spend the month in bathing suits and sundresses.




The next problem with this plan is that I am in no way shape or form ready to be seen in a bathing suit. Although, I generally eat relatively healthy I have not consistently worked out in quite some time. These past few months have been I especially busy and have had little time to work out. So in an effort to ensure a bikini body I decided to join a local gym.

I want a gym that is a judgment-free zone, has a monthly payment option rather than a long-term contract and allows me to work out at odd hours, if necessary. If anyone has seen the hilarious Planet Fitness commercials, then you know that is the gym for me! The start-up fee and the monthly fee are so cheap that I could not resist such a fabulous offer.

Immediately after signing up, I started to think of what I wanted my gym attire to consist of… would I wear all black? Or would I wear an array of vibrant colors? Every aspect of my life is vibrant and colorful and the gym clothes would be no different! I am not the kind of girl that gets her hair and make-up done to go to the gym, but I did want clothes that were comfortable, upbeat and reflective of my personality. 
I already have awesome hot pink Nike running shoes that I love so I will start each work out outfit with my wonderful shoes. Next, I love to wear leggings, yoga pants or biker shorts while I workout because I like the more fitted feel. 

 I find that when my bottoms are more fitted I can actually see my muscles at work, which makes me feel as though I am making progress. A co-worker of mine loves to get yoga pants from LuLu Lemonfor her workouts. I think the yoga/workout clothes for LuLu Lemon are flattering and well made but they are a bit out of my price range; instead, I get more affordable leggings from Forever 21 or Nordstrom Rack.

Next, I want an array of loose-fitting cotton or linen tanks and t-shirts to wear on top. I love thejuxtaposition of fitted bottoms and more spacious tops. I will choose colors like, neon green, hot pink, purple and blue to wear. For t-shirts and tanks I would suggest Gap, Madewell, J. Crew and H&M. Search the sales racks first, for any bargains!
I recently saw that Nike and LuLu Lemon are doing awesome color combinations for their sports bras, which totally appealed to me because I love color and combining prints. Sports bras are an investment so although they are pricier than the tanks and t-shirts, it is important to really get a bra that will support and go the distance with you.  
Be sure to get assistance when buying sports bras to ensure that they are the right size and level support for the activities that you will be performing. Once you have established those two pieces of information have fun choosing ones that appeal to you and make you feel attractive and playful while breaking a sweat!
